Throwing Axes

Axe throwing is a rapidly growing sport where participants aim to hit a bullseye, much like archery. It's been a favourite in lumberjack competitions for years.

To be successful, the axe should rotate just once in the air, making sure the sharp end sticks into the target with the handle facing down. As throwers gain experience, they can experiment with different techniques, including multiple rotations.

Axes made for this sport usually have straight handles without a palm swell, making it easier to release. There are two main types: double-bit and single-bit axes, often called tomahawks.

Our tomahawks are designed with tapered eye sockets. This means if the axe lands off-center, the handle is more likely to come loose rather than break. But if a handle does break, we keep plenty of replacements in stock.
