Log Lift-n-Shift Log Arch is simple yet robust and lightweight device to move logs around the woods or wood yard.
Designed to move medium-size felled logs efficiently from awkward areas with restricted access. Keeps the log off the ground and clean.
Small woodland owners typically use it to get logs to a track where it can be loaded onto a trailer or presented clean to a mobile sawmill or chainsaw for further processing.
Arborists and landscape businesses find this an indispensable tool. Using it to extract felled butts from rear gardens with limited access. This avoids the need to cut it into smaller sections therefore devaluing the timber.
The UK made tongs are CAD designed and CNC cut from 10mm steel. Aggressively angled points bite into both large and small logs. Maximum opening is 16". Not tested or badged for lifting, so are for skidding purposes only.
Log lift-n -Shift will go through gate openings as small as 790mm (31")
Will lift logs with a maximum diameter of 350mm (14") and up to approx 3m (10') long. When working manually, the weight of a log may restrict movement.
The frame is made from strong 50mm (2") tube, robust enough for tough woodland work. Powder coated red for durability.
Runs on 400mm (16") Heavy Duty pneumatic tyres with 200mm (8") steel rims and roller bearing solid metal hubs. These must be greased before use.
Combined maximum weight rating is 310kg.
The overall weight is approx 40kg and 1.7m (5' 7") long so easily man-handled into most vehicles or trailers.
Features new 'log-steady' dogs with a securing chain.
When not in use the whole device will stand securely in an upright position occupying very little space.
Log Lift-n-Shift Log Arch is manufactured in the north east of England by Woodsmith.
