Ideal for traditional pegged timber frame construction, these Timber Framing Pins temporarily replace oak pegs during the frame assembly process. Each pin is forged from solid stainless or mild steel bar and features a smooth finish and a T-handle (useful for easy removal of wooden pegs!)
For projects involving green oak or conditions where the frame may get wet, stainless pins are recommended. Their resistance to corrosion prevents staining from the interaction of mild steel, water, and oak tannins. Although stainless pins come at a higher price due to the difficulty of forging and the cost of materials, their durability and resistance to staining make them a valuable investment.
