Designed for all Tormek water-cooled sharpening machines, the Tormek Diamond Grinding Wheels are available for both the 200mm (T-4) and 250mm (T-8) diameter stones. These state-of-the-art wheels come in three distinct grits (please select from the drop-down boxes above):
- EXTRA FINE: 1200g
- Provides an extra smooth finish and is especially suited to carving tools and knives requiring minimal steel removal
- FINE: 600g
- Good all-rounder, combines efficient steel removal with a smoothly sharpened surface
- COARSE: 360g
- Fast steel removal to repair or reshape edges
Unique to Tormek machines' low speed, these diamond wheels produce no heat, ensuring the longevity and consistent performance of the wheel. Notably, they maintain their full diameter over time, providing a consistent sharpening experience - especially beneficial for users sharpening the same tools regularly.
A standout feature is the wheel's ability to sharpen on both its side and periphery. This side sharpening is especially beneficial for refining small carving tools like gouges, V-tools, plane irons, chisels, and knives, yielding a bevel edge with a perfectly flat surface rather than a typical hollow grind.
Each diamond wheel purchase includes 150 ml of ACC-150 Anti-Corrosion Concentrate. It's crucial to always mix this concentrate with water when using the diamond wheel. This not only prevents rusting of the grinding wheel but also enhances the wheel's longevity and performance. For optimal results, mix 10ml of concentrate with 250ml of water. While water use is highly recommended for sharpening, these wheels also permit dry sharpening.
