The Svante Djarv Drawknife 140mm stands as a testament to the impeccable craftsmanship of the Swedish toolsmiths at Svante Djarv Hantverk AB: Elsa and Svante. This fine, small drawknife, characterised by Elsa Djarv as suited "for small people or for small work," exhibits versatility with handles cranked for both bevel-down and bevel-up usage. It's an ideal tool for delicate tasks, from the final stages of sizing a tenon to being a gentle introduction for children in woodworking. Fashioned from high-quality Swedish tool steel, this drawknife comes ready to use - sharpened, honed, and sheathed in a robust leather wrap-around style sheath designed by Woodsmith's leathersmith.

About the Maker - Svante Djarv Hantverk AB: Svante Djarv Hantverk is a family business based in Avesta, Sweden, that specialises in creating hand-forged wood carving tools. Drawing inspiration from the Swedish metal-working tradition, they've built a broad range of tools, often in collaboration with experienced woodsmiths and craftspeople. Each year, they produce about 4,000 tools and knives, ranging from carving knives to axes, and they also have a unique tool line for children. Every tool is delivered ready for use, crafted from high-quality steel and complemented with handles made from Swedish hardwoods like elm and ash. Woodsmith has had a long-standing relationship with Svante and Elsa Djarv for over a decade, and we're proud to be the UK's largest stockist of their tools.
