The Robert Sorby Timber Framing Slick are massive and weighty pushing chisels. They are capable of fine and accurate cutting, typically sizing timber framing mortices and tenons.
Made from high carbon steel for toughness and hardness made from strong, solid one-piece forging.
Two sizes of cutting edge available (please select from drop-down box above):
- 2 3/8" (60mm)
- 3 3/8" (86mm)
Blade length: 9 1/2" (240mm). Overall length 28" (710mm)
The working face has a slightly hollow surface for ease of honing and the back face rounded for comfort, and comes with a flat ground canel.
Robert Sorby Timber Framing Slicks have an off-set blade for deep mortices or long powerful paring cuts. The handle is beautifully shaped in ash and fixed to the blade with a heavy-duty tang.
Two types of optional leather edge protector are available for these tools to protect the edge.
