The Tine Cutter 1/2" is a tool to produce short 1/2" diameter dowels. Typically used for the production of tines (or teeth) for traditional hay rakes.
The tapered cutting edge of this tool is hardened to maintain its edge, the remaining tube is wider at 5/8" wide to ensure the wooden tine does not jam as it passes through.
The tube is welded to a 5mm x 115mm (4 1/2") x 115mm (4 1/2") steel plate with holes pre-drilled in each corner so it can be screwed down onto a solid bench.
Remember to also drill a hole, approx 1 1/2", in the bench first so the tines can fall through!
Made in the UK.
Tine Cutter 1/2" is made from plain steel so will need to be protected from rust.
