Steel Wedges for Axe Handles  help secure handles to tools such as axes, adzes and hammers.

After a wooden wedge has been well fitted, a steel wedge further secures the wedge and the head to the handle.  Hammered into the end grain, normally diagonally across the wooden wedge.

Use only after a properly seasoned wooden wedge has been fitted and trimmed flat.

It is not recommended to just rely upon a steel wedge as an easy fix for a tool handle that has become insecure.

These Steel Wedges for Axe Handles are fitted to some Gransfors Bruk axes.

Leaves a neater flatter finish to the end grain of the handle compared to other steel wedges.
