It excels with dry wood but remains versatile for various tasks. When working on oak frames, the straight edge's capability to cleanly get into large tenon corners makes it a handy tool. Essentially, it can also double as a chisel for small adjustments to tenon thicknesses. The cutaway behind the bit is strategic, enabling pressure directly behind the head for precise cuts. The Carpenter's Axe also comes with a hardened and ground poll, for use as a hammer.
