The Crucible GoDrilla is designed to extend the reach of drill bits and other tooling without introducing wobble or run-out. This precision-machined tool, made in Tennessee an designed by Crucible Tool, enables accurate boring and fastening operations that are difficult to achieve with standard bit extenders.
Many extenders on the market are cheaply made and acceptable for tasks where run-out isn’t an issue, such as drilling oversized holes hidden behind drywall. In woodworking, however, oversized holes can lead to unsightly results, so the GoDrilla was created with those specific needs in mind.
Features of the GoDrilla:
The tool firmly holds bits in place, keeping them concentric with the chuck.
Designed for easy tightening by hand but also allows for additional cinching with wrenches for secure fastening.
Capable of extending bit reach from 6" to 24" by swapping out hex bars.
Repairable if the shaft becomes bent, ensuring long-term use.
The GoDrilla functions like a router collet but features two ends. One end grips a hex bar chucked into the drill, while the other securely holds 1/4"-shank tooling, accommodating everything from spade bits to countersinks. It can extend the reach of any tool with a 1/4" hex shank.
The tool includes a 12" hex bar, a common length for chairmaking, but users can replace it with longer or shorter bars as needed. Its body is crafted from hard-anodised aluminium, while the steel nuts are treated with manganese phosphate for rust resistance and smooth threading.
What’s Included:
1 GoDrilla body with two steel locking nuts
1 12" steel hex bar
Instruction booklet
Please note drill bit not included
The Crucible GoDrilla offers an effective, durable solution for woodworking tasks that require extended reach and precise results, making it a valuable addition to any toolbox.
