The Bahco Splitting Maul 3200g is a heavy axe for splitting firewood.
The poll of this axe is hardened so can also be used to drive a splitting wedge. Typically used to split difficult and thick wood.
The 800mm long straight handle is made from straight grained American hickory, and the head is secured with a jagged carbob-fibre wedge and a metal ring wedge.
Comes with an improved edge from the Woodsmith workshop.
About Bahco:
Bahco is an international brand within the hand tool industry. Its roots go back to the industrial revolution of Sweden in the late eighteen hundreds, starting with innovations such as the pipe wrench and the modern adjustable wrench. Since then, the product range has expanded with a total assortment of products that today includes over 14000 hand tools. Whilst many may see Bahco as a departure from our focus on handmade, hand forged tools - we feel its important at Woodsmith to also stock a range of tools at a more affordable price point, that are still of good quality. We feel Bahco represents that balance of value for money, and very happy to stock a select range of tools at Woodsmith.
