Ashley Iles Flat Chisel 2" is a turning tool specially made for use on a pole lathe.

The function of this chisel is to create a smooth flat finish on your billet.

The 50mm (2") broad cutting edge makes it possible to produce those desirable wide shavings without the corners digging-in.

Made from high carbon steel. The bevel comes with a basic hollow grind at 25 degrees so it will need a final hone before use.

NOTE: THIS TOOL DOES NOT HAVE A BOLSTER SO CAN'T BE USED LIKE A NORMAL CHISEL WITH A MALLET.

Overall length of the tool is 400mm (16)".

The 230mm (9") long handle is made from sustainably sourced beech.
