The Ashley Iles Bevel-edged Chisel 2" is a large general-duty bevel edged chisel.

Also works great on the pole lathe producing clean broad shavings to create smooth surfaces. Two tools in one.

Designed to be struck with a wooden mallet when making large mortices. Ours gets used to create mortices and tenons on pole lathe heads and oak gates. The shorter handle is welcome when used on a pole lathe but definitely not for power lathe use.

• Made from high carbon steel hardened to 59-61 Rockwell, giving optimal sharpness and edge holding qualities.

• The 50mm (2") cutting edge comes hollow ground to 25 degrees and will require a final hone before use.

• Total length 340mm (13 1/2") including a 190mm (7 1/2") beech handle and brass ferrule.
